Trainee Assistant Credit Controller

TRAINEE ASST CREDIT CONTROLLER to £22,000
City based Lloyds syndicate is seeking an individual within the Credit Control team, who will work very closely with Brokers, Reinsurance, Underwriting Support, Finance and the wholesale Underwriting teams providing a high quality service and customer focus. The Primary responsibility for an Assistant Credit Controller is to ensure that monies are received and settled on a timely basis, in accordance with expected income and contractual terms, minimizing the Aged Debt position whilst maintaining accurate records and accounts. The successful candidate would be expected to achieve individual and team targets, and fully contribute to the overall success of the department.
Duties:

*To correctly allocate all receipts/payments against the respective technical entries on the ledgers.
*To promptly and proactively investigate any settlement or technical queries on the ledgers, liaising with the underwriters, technicians, and claims teams as appropriate to resolve the queries.
*To issue accurate and timely statements of account to third parties, as required in order to facilitate prompt settlement of balances.
*Ensure that booked premium income is tracked against written income and written income is tracked against Expected Income to establish an accurate financial position.
*Ensure bureau signings and broker statements (or their equivalent) are received, reviewed where necessary and accurately processed. Liaise with divisions, brokers and Xchanging to efficiently resolve any queries which arise.
*Perform ad hoc operational duties to support the team
The successful candidate:
*Will be educated to a minimum of A-Level or equivalent
*Possess strong numerical and analytical skills.
*Will have good working knowledge of Excel, and be a competent user of MS Office;
