Overview

This Trainee Accounting Technician is an entry-level role designed to provide on-the-job training and support while studying for the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop a career in accounting and finance.

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day accounting tasks: Assisting with tasks such as data entry, invoicing, purchase ledger, sales ledger, bank reconciliations, and general administration.
  • AAT studies: Undertaking AAT qualifications with the support of the company. Balancing study time with work responsibilities.
  • Learning and development: Gaining practical experience in accounting principles and procedures. Developing strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Teamwork: Contributing to the smooth running of the finance department. Working collaboratively with colleagues.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • A desire to pursue a career in accounting
  • GCSE Maths (or equivalent)

Desired Skills

  • Previous experience in an office environment (beneficial)
  • Interest in accounting and finance
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
