e are now recruiting A Traffic Sampler at Truro Mail Centre.

As a Traffic Sampler you will be key in the supporting and gathering of data from a number of sampling schemes within a Mail Centre.

Standards and methodology must be followed while you;

  • Carry out Mails Characteristics Survey (MCS) sampling, as per specification, inputting the results accurately to the MCS data capture form
  • Carry out sampling of Average Container Fills (ACF) to specification.
  • Container Counts and Secondary Sort Counts to Specification. 
  • Carry out Machine Accuracy Checks (MAC) to specification
  • Support the communication and implementation of revised systems of traffic measurement, sharing good practice where necessary.
  • Work as directed by Line Manager.

Pay and Benefits

You will be paid weekly, increments at 6 months and 12 months are subject to satisfactory performance.


Starting Salary


Age 17         £7.77        + 6 months         +12 months

Age 18         £9.99           £10.54                 £11.10

We also offer a weekly Collections Functional Supplement of £9.77 (pro-rata) plus overtime and shift allowance if applicable              

Hours of work: 18 hours per week Earliest start time 11:00  - Latest finish time 07:30  

The position has variable hours, generally working 6 hours per day over a rolling 3 days per week Mon-Sat covering various shifts, i.e. Early, Lates & Night shifts.

Attendance times will be flexible so could be as early as 11:00am and finish at 10:30pm for the day shift, Night Shifts will be 11:00pm until 7:30am

Flexibility is essential as start and finish times may vary depending on workload, and you may also be required to work in other offices in the area, so a valid driving licence and the ability to travel would be beneficial..
