As a Trading Executive working for TUI, the world’s number one tourism business, you will be a key part of the Commercial and Business Development team. You will analyse sales data trends and take appropriate pricing actions to maximise our profits and minimise risk as a company. You’ll have the opportunity to drive your own development and we have a clear pathway for progression set up within our structure.
What you will be doing
In the role of Trading Executive, you will be working within a fast paced environment responsible for a number of holiday destinations, striving to optimise sales and profitability across both our flights and our hotels. It’s all about ensuring the right price is available to our customers at the right time.
When you first start with TUI you will undergo a comprehensive 4 week training programme to introduce you to all the systems and reporting you will need to be a success in this role. Once your training is complete you will be ready to review booking trends and use our yield systems to make informed recommendations and decisions to deliver results in line with the company strategy.
You will constantly monitor and react to demand in the competitive holiday market, offering relevant pricing solutions to maximise opportunities and overcome any barriers to sales. Your decisions will directly drive the price offering to our customers and ultimately feed in to the overall financial performance of TUI UK&I.
There is also the opportunity to get involved with ad-hoc projects, which will give you exposure to other areas and other people in the business. This means you will also need to effectively build strong internal relationships with key stakeholders across the commercial division and beyond - to drive current and future business strategy. It is important you are able to perform well under pressure and make decisions using your own initiative.
- Analysing of data reports to identify trends in your destinations
- Making pricing suggestions to senior colleagues.
- Attending meetings with key stakeholders from other departments to review sales activities
- Analysing non-pricing factors that impact the sale trends and the performance of your resort areas
- Dealing with our contact centre to help resolve customer queries
- Involvement in other related projects and tasks that will impact the profitability and success of the business
- Reviewing market trends and competitor pricing activities

You’ll be provided with your own laptop, so you can take yourself off to one of our many breakout areas and meet with colleagues. Within the Trading department we also operate a hot-desking policy, so you will get to know your colleagues quickly, as well as being able to interact with some of the more senior members of the department.
