Trade Finance Manager - Operations

An overseas banking institution wish to recruit a Trade Finance Operations Manager to be responsible for daily supervision and delivery of all import/export LC/bills related transactions and guarantees.

Overview

Approve and mange LCs, ensure they are in place for all confirmed letter of credit and liability booked on the system.

To ensure Compliance Link Screening Report (sanctions check) is in place for all TF transactions or any other Trade related instruments.

Bank’s internal Trade Manuals for Import and export LCs / Bills, Guarantees and related fund based and non-fund based products (Conventional & Islamic)

ICC Publication (UCP 600, URC525, URR722 & ISBP745)

To develop and implement the short and long-term strategy for Trade Finance operations.

Coach, develop and share knowledge with the team to help them achieve their potential and meet customer satisfaction levels

Monitor and appraise staff performance within the areas of responsibility.

Produce relevant, accurate and timely qualitative and quantitative management information covering service standards and volumes within Trade Finance

Identify and implement process improvements to reduce unit times, improve service standards and mitigate or reduce AML & Opts risks

Ensure that the Bank’s TCF framework is embedded and monitored throughout the Trade Finance team and appropriate MI is provided on a regular basis

Ensure controls are complied with and breaches are reported, including taking action to prevent reoccurrences, in consultation with other internal departments

Experience/Skills

Ideally minimum 5 years relevant experience in trade finance operations

2-3 years experience supervising/managing within trade finance operations

Strong understanding of banking instruments, procedures and dealing practices.

Strong understanding of Banking and Trade Finance procedures and policies.
