Test Engineer - Controls

Our client, a large manufacturing organisation, has a very exciting opportunity for a TEST TECHNICIAN working on CONTROLS, based from their location in Deeside. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to join a large organisation at the spearhead of the operation.

Reporting directly to the Validation Engineering Manager, the purpose of the role is to support the testing and development of company products including test rig and robot-assisted testing.

Key responsibilities and duties will include:

- Design and build control systems for test rigs.
- Design and build test equipment / rigs including control circuity and tooling.
- Writing code for PLCS (CoDeSys and ladder logic), smart relays and HMIs in various formats for use in R&D and production pass off test.
- Prepare equipment (electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and software) for testing.
- Run test programs including comprehensive data recording / monitoring using manual and automated recording techniques.
- Document testing and write test reports including analysis and summary of data.
- Electrical installation to 17th Edition regulations for electrical installation, commissioning, servicing and repair.

The successful candidate must have extensive experience working with PLCs, machine design, automation / robot systems, industrial controls and programming.

Knowledge of pneumatics, electrical components and or hydraulics is also required.

Salary is up to £38k dependent on experience.
