Our client is an extremely reputable, British manufacturer of Vehicles supplied both nationally and internationally. They specialise in the design and manufacture of such Vehicles and are a leader in their respective market. They are currently experiencing a ramp up of work and are expanding their Engineering function across multiple sites in the UK to satisfy global demand.

Overall Purpose

  • Working in the Test and Development department
  • Working as part of a team responsible for carrying out electrical tasks required to
  • complete the various test requests.
  • The role ins primarily electrical but a mechanical ability is also required

Skills, Behaviours and Experience

Please give a full description below: -

  • Good knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, ideally commercial vehicle experience
  • Able to read and understand electrical drawings and circuit diagrams
  • Able to record and update circuit diagrams
  • Experience with high voltage systems
  • Able to work under own initiative
  • Experience with instrumentation and data logging equipment
  • Demonstrate knowledge and ability to carry out mechanical tests
  • Good communicator (working with Electrical design, suppliers etc.)
  • Problem solving of faults
  • Fluent in MS Office (outlook, word and excel)

Main Tasks / Responsibilities

Please give a full description of all job tasks below: -

  • Fault finding and rectification on 24 V dc and CAN harness systems
  • Hybrid vehicle fault finding
  • Use of laptop based diagnostic software covering engines, gearboxes, CAN and vehicle systems
  • Changing or modify vehicle harness (24V, CAN & Hybrid 600V)
  • Create vehicle harnesses from base components
  • Specify termination plugs and sockets required
  • Have a good understanding of vehicle harnesses and the different termination components
  • Carrying work in a safe manor
  • Use of the correct PPE equipment
  • Maintaining a clean & tidy work environment
