Our client based just outside Portsmouth is looking to recruit a Temporary Expeditor / Purchasing Planner to join their busy and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is interested in a career withing Purchasing with a company that highly value their staff. They are looking for someone who is a strong coordinator, confident with Excel and has a good attention to detail. Previous experience within a purchasing or buying department is not essential. This is initially a temporary assignment anticipatied to last a few months.
This is a busy and involved position where you will gain experience in a wide range of purchasing activities. The role will include calling suppliers, chasing orders and checking delivery schedules. You will be working with simple spreadsheets and MRP requirements.
The Ideal Candidate
In order to be considered for this role you would ideally have some previous experience within purchasing/buying. You must have a good eye for detail, be able to prioritise your work and be confident working to strict deadlines. You will need to be IT literate in particular Excel and Word. You will also need to display the following attributes:
- Good Analytical Skills
- The aptitude to work under own initiative
- Confident written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to question and 'think outside of the box’
- Ability to work both as part of a team and on an individual basis
