Telehandler Operator CPCS
This job is for a Telescopic Telehander Operator to work in Gatwick Airport in the land side areas on a new build construction sites for Hays on a contract basis Your new company You will be working for a steel contractor that has been awarded a contract to construct a large complex building project for Gatwick Airport Limited
Your new role This 5 week assignment starts on Monday 12th March and you will be lifting and placing in-situ the pre-fabricated steel columns, steel beams and pre-stressed concrete slabs. The lifting plan for steel erection will involve Tele Handlers, tracked mobile cranes and Cherry Pickers. You will be working in a live airport environment. When there are no lifts you will be required to work as a site operative with the other team members. Machines are a JCB 6010 & Merlo 4 ton vehicle with 17m boom
What you'll need to succeed You will have a CPCS card for a Telescopic Telehandler preferably with an NVQ Level 2 in plant operations and substantial site experience. You will also need photo ID, proof of NI, proof of address, a clean criminal record and pass a reference check from a previous employer. You will be working within a very compact area and as such must have the ability to follow lift plans closely and ensure health and safety is adhered to at all times.
What you'll get in return You attend a formal Gatwick Induction and be issued a Hays airport pass and paid £17 p/h working 48 hours per week Monday to Thursday 07:30-18:00 and Friday 07:30-15:00. There is currently no weekend overtime set in the programme, but this could be subject to change. There is no provision for travel or accommodation to be paid to Hays workers. Free parking is provided on site.
