Fantastic opportunity to join a well established company based in Brighton.

Our client who is a market leader within the production industry is looking for a Service and Repair Technician to join their team on a permanent basis with a starting salary of £19000.

The Service and Repair Technician is responsible for both the timely collection, fault-finding, repair and return to the production cells of internally failed units and also for the fault-finding / repair of external (customers) failed product. All fault data is logged onto the relevant database and the Technician assists in collating and presenting the information gathered.
The technician also provides first-level support to the production cells where test equipment is suspected to be faulty.

Daily fault-finding and repair of internally failed units, to ensure the production cells meet their OTD (On-Time Delivery) targets.
Liaising with Production Manager / Production Team Leaders on a continual basis to advise of any issues.
Daily analysis and repair of externally failed units, liaising with customers where required.
Immediate logging of and daily presentation of fault data, both internal and external.
Interpreting Quality data and working with colleagues to introduce improvements to reduce internal and external PPM.
Attending DFM (Design For Manufacture) meetings, providing input and feedback on new designs.

Understand internal systems, centred around ERP (SAP) and Microsoft Office applications, to be able to retrieve and use pertinent data and to log fault data.
Gain an excellent knowledge of various product lines, and be competent to diagnose and repair without supervision.
Be competent in handling direct customer communications.

This position is a developmental position with a potential career path to a more senior role within Operations.
