Technical Writer - Hungerford, Berkshire


  • Background in writing pieces for Technical products/clients - user manuals for example

Team Setup:

62 people in the company. No one else employed in this capacity, but working closely with Marketing Manager and Head of Product Management. 

Working hours:

Generally Mon-Fri, 9-5.30. Can be flexible.

We are now looking to expand our team by appointing a Technical Writer (part-time hours will be considered) who, working closely alongside the Product and Marketing manager, will create high quality technical, product and marketing content and documentation to further enhance our customers experience and training.  

The role will encompass (but not be limited to):

  • Creating and owning all external documentation requirements (user manuals, handbooks, release notes, help text, help videos, FAQs pages, etc.)
  • Communicating complex information in an informative and inspiring way
  • Standardising content across platforms and media - creating a ‘brand style’
  • Proposing communication plans for any new technology/releases
  • Studying product materials and engaging with stakeholders to gain required understanding of the technologies of our product
  • Publishing documents and maintaining a communications platform
  • Gather usability feedback from end users, revising documents as and when required
  • Displaying a passion, drive and hunger to help market the brand
  • Some travel within the UK may be necessary

  We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a bachelors degree or relevant experience
  • Has prior technical writing experience – communicating complex ideas in a clear and compelling manner
  • Ability to adapt to brand guidelines
  • Is an excellent verbal and written communicator, with impeccable grammar and spelling
  • Able to assimilate knowledge quickly – researching products, services, technology to be documented
  • Detail oriented, quick to learn, positive, adaptable, and energetic
  • Is an accomplished user of the Microsoft Office suite
  • Is familiar with, and able to absorb, new technologies and systems
  • Is a self-starter and problem solver
  • Is pro-active, motivated, and comfortable working under their own initiative, as well as in a team
  • Has a full current driving license and use of a car (mileage allowance will be provided)
