About the Team:
The Tesco Mobile DevOps team is a truly cross functional team responsible for both the product development as well as the running and operations of multiple bespoke IT solutions.
As a Technical Writer in the DevOps team, you`ll be responsible for planning, documenting and maintaining, technical documentation for the platforms that the DevOps team is responsible for. You will be working alongside a talented team of developers, testers, business analysis, scrum master, and technical support members.
We work using SCRUM and Kanban Agile methodologies to maintain and create new software.
-Plan, develop, organize, write and edit operational procedures, platform documentation, DevOps process and knowledge base
-Research, develop and document technical design specifications including API specifications
-Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation and be the go to person for all things documentation.
-Analyse documents to maintain continuity of style of content Manage updates and revisions to technical literature
-Take an active role in Knowledge Sharing Sessions
-Work along the rest of the team (Devs/QA/Scrum Master/BA/Technical Support Analyst/DevOps Support Lead) during the sprint
Skills & experience:
-Experience of working with an agile methodology (Scrum, Kanban)
-Understanding of the Software Development lifecycle (SLDC) from design to live service.
-Experience with Scrum tools (JIRA, Confluence)
-Effective communication skills with an ability to collaborate and work as a team player
-Ability to understand complex systems and issues and communicate these to both technical and non-technical people.
-Excellent written and oral communication skills
-Flexible - keen to learn new technologies
-Good problem solving skills
-Proven experience working in a technical writing position
Regular travel to Tesco Mobile sites including (but not limited to) Slough, Bury, Leeds
