Technical Services Manager - Service Desk Manager - IT MSP - IT Reseller

An excellent opportunity has arisen in Wirral for a dynamic Technical Services Manager with our client, a fast-growing IT & Telecoms Service Provider.

The main purpose of the role is to provide the essential technical knowledge and people skills to lead the Technical Service team (current size - 8).

Main responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Overseeing and coordinating the day to day service desk and support activities
  • Planning and managing the allocation of resource including recruitment
  • Supporting the team in the resolution of high profile technical incidents
  • Establishing and maintaining a training needs program
  • Designing, implementing and maintaining information systems to record processes and knowledge
  • Ensuring that the service is delivered profitably
  • Preparing management information on team performance (KPI's)
  • Managing partner relationships to leverage support and training services
  • Supporting and validating pre-sales solution design and overseeing project implementation

The successful candidate will have previous experience of leading service desk & project engineers within an IT Managed Service Provider / IT Reseller environment and will possess extensive direct line management (of technical teams) experience as well as being technically competent.

Ideally ITIL qualified & process driven with experience of managing and embedding change with excellent communication skills, able to translate technical concepts for a non -technical audience.

A full driving license and own vehicle is required for this role as you will have to travel to Stockport on Fridays for a weekly leadership meeting.
