Headway Recruitment are privileged to be working with a prestigious Technology and Security specialist company who are looking to welcome a Technical Services Engineer - 2nd line & project support technician to join their dynamic team.
The role covers both technical project delivery and support functions, making this a varied and challenging opportunity. The right candidate will adapt a "hands on "approach in delivering exceptional service to both Government and Corporate clients across the UK.
You will be an integral part of the Technical Services team providing pre-sales design, configuration, commissioning and support capability.
·Configuration, installation and technical support on various IT based equipment including switches, routers, firewalls, PC's & servers etc.
·Configuration, installation and technical support on various IP network technologies including mobile phone (GPRS, 3G & HSDPA), wireless Microwave (PtP & PtMP, licensed & un-licensed), WiFi and wired systems including ADSL, CAT5/6 & fibre.
·Configuration, installation and technical support on various IP based security equipment including digital codec's, cameras and recorders.
·Configuration of network management platforms (such as Solarwinds NPM & FortiManager).
·Knowledge of Microsoft and directory services (MCP) and virtualised platforms.
·Assisting with configuration of Proof of Concept (PoC) laboratories, testing and associated documentation.
·Technical pre-sales support & customer demonstrations.
·Creation of technical & project documentation in various formats.
·Support & management of internal IT systems.
Basic salary of £25-30k depending on experience, team performance bonus, 28 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays. Company pension scheme and Perkbox.
On call allowance, part of the out of hours on call team (estimated 1 week in 6)
Working hours: Monday - Friday 9:00 - 17:30
