Technical Sales Specialist - Professional Displays - EMEAR

As the Professional Display (PD) Technical Sales Specialist you will report into European Market Development Manager. This role is responsible for influencing and managing the sale and lifecycle of PD deals to develop and grow the size, scope and profitability of the Epson PD business.

The role will provide technical sales support for large project opportunities and will also manage sales activities for identified customers / market segment , being accountable for contributing to the delivery of the sales target. The PD Technical Sales Specialist, will also help enable local sales teams to manage key Value Added Reseller (VAR) and partner relationships, and work in collaboration with the Local and Central PD teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the EPSON sales teams for sales and tender generation activity, acting as the PD technical specialist/advisor to educate channel partners in the technology and potential solutions
  • Provide technical sales support for large project opportunities across the team
  • Engage and build relationships with partners and customers and their technical representatives early in the sales cycle and throughout the sales process to understand their business needs and solution objectives
  • Work directly with key strategic customers to identify and influence on the most appropriate solution to meet their needs and provide input into tenders, rental projects and technical documents. (e.g. HW integration, Signal processing, mapping, etc.)
  • Produce technical requirement plans for allocated customer segment
  • Support key partners in developing and delivering a custom made solution for the customer to meet the required specification
  • Manage the technical discussion/negotiation process with the customer and any linked external service providers or contractors
  • Manage all deals through the lifecycle and undertake appropriate internal sales and reporting processes
  • Support, Educate and train the local sales teams, partners and End Users on all technical aspects of high end projectors
  • Closely collaborate with the PD Central (EMEAR) team for tender requests, to share pipeline management, market intelligence, project /deal experience, issues and solutions and ensure alignment with European strategy
  • Provide Technical Support expertise to sales exhibitions and events, either managed centrally or in-conjunction with the sales team
  • Co-ordinate the feed information and market intelligence to sales and Business Management to support the development of a balanced pipeline of opportunities for the business

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Experience working in a Professional AV technical role with a focus on AV End User solution sales
  • High level of technical knowledge of professional/high end installation products
  • Outstanding/significant high end AV technology, market, customer and customer network base/knowledge
  • Experience in providing technical expertise and support during the development and pre sales stages and also managing the key relationships with partners/customers from a commercial position
  • Ability to communicate and demonstrate the value and benefits of products/solutions to partners, end users and sales teams. Commercially aware, able to manage and maintain the existing customer base alongside identifying new opportunities
  • Strong negotiation skills both with customers and third party partners
  • Pro-active and driven results oriented approach
  • Excellent communication, presentation and persuading/influencing skills with the ability to adapt to a variety of audiences
  • Strong analysis and problems solving capability with a focus on finding effective solutions
  • Ability to build and proactively manage relationships with both customers/channel partners and internal sales support functions
  • Able to work independently and flexibly as part of a small team
  • Resilient and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong IT skills, including a good understanding of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Outstanding high end AV technology, market, customer and customer network base/knowledge
  • Good written and spoken English language skills
