This role is a fantastic opportunity for a sales professional to grow and maintain our business in the African region. We are flexible on location; the successful individual can be based in the Middle East, Africa or the UK, provided that you are comfortable with travel and have had previous experience travelling within the African region.

Location: Field Based (dependant on post holder)

Role Purpose:

To achieve the monthly, quarterly and annual objectives for the African region through building effective relationships with existing customers and promoting Hochiki products and services through technical support and training. Working towards further development of the territory’s existing and potential customer base.

Reporting to:

Assistant Managing Director- Hochiki Middle East

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop existing customers through excellent relationship management
  • Train and educate new and existing customers on complete product range
  • Regular liaison with the industry’s specifiers
  • Ensure regular customer contact is maintained
  • Investigate the market and identify new key customers in the defined region
  • Monitor and report changes in competitor situation
  • Regular travel across the market to customers, prospects and, where required, end-users
  • Assist with exhibitions, presentations and translation work (when required)
  • Ensure a comprehensive level of personal product knowledge is maintained
  • Preparation and timely presentation of quotations, forecasts and visit reports
  • Monitor and control customer credit status
  • Accurate and timely submission of all administrative paperwork including monthly expenses
  • Production of other reports as and when requested
  • Effective communication across the company on any issues which would affect those departments

- Internal Departments, up to Management level (Specifically Production, Supply Chain, Credit Control)

- External customers

Person Specification

We are looking for individuals who are highly motivated and have a passion to contribute to the success of Hochiki. In addition to this, you will possess the following:

Qualifications

  • Essential: Degree level or equivalent
  • Desirable: French language skills or knowledge of European Languages

Experience

  • Essential: 5+ years in a similar role
  • Desirable: Exposure to sales environment, experience of working with Africa based business and/or customers

Knowledge

  • Essential: Knowledge of working in a technical industry
  • Desirable: Experience of working in the Fire Industry, Understanding of Export Documentation

Technical skills

  • Essential: Computer Literate with knowledge of Windows operating system
  • Desirable: Working knowledge of SAP, Knowledge of BS58J9

Personal qualities

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Good teamwork as well as ability to work alone as a remote working

- High attention to detail

- Strong presentation/training skills

- Desire to travel for work
