What does sales represent to you? Sell me this product…? Or help me understand the product?
For us, sales is much more than just striving for the hard sell and high volume; we’re about quality, resolving problems, delivering tailor-made solutions and building long-lasting relationships.
And that’s where you come in - our next Technical Sales Engineer, offering knowledge, advice and support as you sell our proven portfolio of hydraulic cylinders/actuators and bespoke products.
For industry sectors such as renewable energy, offshore, metal production, the military, and civil engineering, we need you to manage sales projects from the initial concept enquiry right through to factory acceptance tests, delivery, and, in some instances, installation and site commissioning.
Thanks to industry experience and most likely a relevant mechanical qualification or degree, you’ll have the knowledge to effectively liaise with engineering companies, customers, design engineers, manufacturing teams, subcontract partners, and suppliers.
Reading and understanding engineering drawings and interpreting detailed technical specifications will come into play as you advise on options and the viability of designs. You’ll be verbally explaining key information and producing written reports for customers and design/manufacturing teams.
If you have Technical Sales Engineer experience related to hydraulics, great - but if not, we’re looking for commercial acumen and the transferable business skills that we’ll build on by providing training and support.
You will be required to travel extensively throughout the UK, maintaining and developing existing customers and seeking out potential new customers. In addition, you will make occasional visits to manufacturing partners in Europe.
Your location? We’d prefer you to be office based but we are relatively flexible and will still consider you if you have good transport links and live close enough to commute into the office when required. We are based in a historic and lively market town close to countryside retreats in and around the Cotswolds, Bath and Bristol, with London only an hour away.
Why us? You’ll be a focal part of a small, easy-going and professional UK team that packs a punch: the Germany-based manufacturing Group is a global leader in hydraulic cylinder design and manufacturing.
You’ll be working on interesting, bespoke projects - often two or three at a time. An example? We designed and manufactured the hydraulic cylinders that power the movement of the iconic Twin Sail Bridge, in Poole which mimics two sails when up and adjoins into a road crossing when down!
So what else is in it for you? A profit-related bonus along with 25 days of annual leave, a company car and negotiable stakeholder pension contributions.
