Job Title: Technical Project Lead - Construction & Agricultural Machines

You will have responsibility for, and control of, the engineering delivery for off highway vehicles. Working with end customers, product management and the engineering team, you will define and guide vehicle projects from concept to production, developing innovative and robust products to meet industry and customer standards.

Ideally, you will be a degree qualified Engineer, with relevant design experience and a thorough understanding of off-highway vehicle design, customer requirements, and how to translate these into project goals.

About You:

You will be self-motivated, enthusiastic and positive. You will have responsibility for, and take ownership of, the machines you create and release. You will have excellent technical understanding, organisation, and communication skills.

You will lead project delivery and engineering resources, while monitoring compliance with project objectives. You will set up and manage relationships with other departments including, but not limited to, Service, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing and Marketing.

You must be literate, numerate and articulate, have good problem solving skills and be able to develop your own priorities, and both motivate and work within a team. You will be able to convey complex technical issues to both non-technical and expert audiences, and to create and deliver project information for Gate reviews.

You will be able to make technical and project decisions in coordination with the Head of R&D, and both question and evaluate any decisions relating to the project.

You must be eligible to work in the UK.

Key Skills:

Experience with the design of off-highway equipment required.

Demonstrate curiosity, creativity and innovation in the design of machinery.

Competent with 3D CAD, able to evaluate and identify issues.

Capable of working from an open engineering brief, able to provide direction where ambiguity exists.

Able to interpret standards related to off highway mobile machinery, and apply them to machines.

Able to lead design and development projects, working to a budget and timing plan.

Awareness of cost implications for full component life cycle.

Suggest ways of continuous improvement.

Actively promote cost reduction and quality improvement activities.

Have a positive impact and influence on colleagues both in and outside of your area of responsibility.

Capable of presenting to groups of people, both formally and informally.

Able to positively represent the group, eg: to both suppliers and customers.

Able to work as part of a Global group interacting with teams at other sites across Europe.
