My client is a multi-sited leading FMCG manufacturing business. They are currently looking to recruit a Technical Manager to lead, manage and develop the Technical & Hygiene Departments in the achievement of continuous improvement in quality of performance and cost across a manufacturing/distribution operation and 2 additional distribution operations across the South East of England.
You will provide expertise and support to the bakery operations, championing local project improvement initiatives. Communicating and implementing the requirements of company Technical Standards through the application and development of Best Practice.
You will be a site leader with autonomy for matters relating to quality, food safety and legality. You will be comfortable utilising the expertise of the central technical team in implementing and sharing of Best Practice with colleagues across the business. You will be involved in final decision making on matters of food safety and legality in consultation with the General Manager. You will possess the ability to consult out of site where agreement cannot be reached.
Typical KPI’s will include:
- Consumer Complaints
- Audit Performance - Extrinsic and Internal (Including ISO, BRC, NTS, Post Bake Surveys, Pest Control and Retailer Inspections)
- Hygiene audit
- Weight Control
- Departmental: Budget Control / Absenteeism / Accidents / Briefings & Communication
Candidates interested in applying for this role should have at least 5 years technical/hygiene experience with a clear track record of achievement, preferably with management experience of leading teams working in commercially challenging, results driven, food manufacturing environment.
Ideally, you will be an individual of graduate calibre, possessing a food science qualification, HNC/D or degree level equivalent. A highly motivated, determined and enthusiastic individual with strong leadership and team building qualities. You will have budgetary experience: Labour Budget Control ~£250K - £600K) & Overhead & Materials Budget Control (~£125K - £400K). And most of all, you will have the ability and resilience to thrive in a pressurised environment, prioritising work load to ensure delivery of a professional technical leading service to the Site.
