Technical Lead

A specialist organisation within the legal and insurance sectors are looking for a technical lead / senior developer to work hand in hand with the head of development. The opportunity to come in and drive the current development team forward is ready for you. The progression opportunities with this role are fantastic and you could find yourself in technical architect territory very soon.

Role Purpose:

    • To work as part of an Agile team to maintain, document and develop first class IT solutions using the internal tools and processes
    • To work with the Head of Development to ensure that strategies, tools and specialist skills are available to support and direct deliveries of first class IT Solutions
    • To quickly learn new skills as needed for the role and promote awareness of emerging technologies and techniques that will support the business strategy

Experience and Skills (Mandatory)

    • At least 5 years of application development experience, working in a medium to large team developing complex business systems.
    • Experience of developing effective user interfaces
    • Working knowledge of web service based integration
    • Experience of mentoring and coaching more junior team members
    • Expert knowledge in Microsoft .Net technologies, Microsoft SQL Server and supporting technologies
    • Design skills particularly around Object Orientation and Service Orientated Architecture
    • Test Driven Development
    • Continuous Integration
    • Strong working knowledge of relational database design and SQL
    • Practical experience of development methodologies e.g. Agile, Scrum and iterative development

Experience and Skills (Desirable)

    • UML
    • Performance tuning
    • Team Foundation Services
