The Technical Lead will be responsible for working closely with the new CTO to put in place new processes and play a major part in technology selection. They are currently looking to move away from their CMS platform and employ it as a headless CMS to focus on building out brand new microservices using OO PHP and a modern MVC framework that has yet to be decided on, it will be down to the new Technical Lead to put together a suggestion and business case for the MVC framework of their choice. The main options being considered are Symfony and Laravel while using their respective lightweight versions alongside.
The successful PHP technical Lead will either be working already as a technical lead or a Senior PHP Engineer who has experience of working on architecture and contributing ideas towards technology selection. We expect you to have experience of working with an MVC framework such as Laravel or Symfony in producing clean, reusable, testable code. You will then be able to run the necessary tests on your own code before deploying it into the environment. The Technical Lead will be familiar performing code reviews and mentoring, either formally or informally more Junior members of the team.
