Occupational Therapy Technical Instructor – Band 3

Women’s Mental Health Pathway, Northampton.

Salary:  £16,231 - £19,977  per Annum (Plus Unregistered Allowance £683.00)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Full Time)

St Andrew’s is one of the UK’s leading providers of specialist health care for men, women and young people with mental disorders and acquired brain injury. An opportunity has arisen within the Women’s Mental Health Pathway; St. Andrews Healthcare on the Northampton site. The Occupational Therapy team needs a motivated individual to support them in delivering high quality OT interventions.

This would be an exciting opportunity to work with experienced Occupational Therapy staff within the Medium Secure Integrated Practise Unit within the Women’s pathway. The role will involve working with patients to facilitate creative therapeutic groups with under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist. 

You should have:

- An understanding of the role of Occupational Therapy.
- The ability to work well in a MDT team.
- Sound communication skills.
- Good problem solving skills and creative ideas.
- The ability to work under pressure
- The ability to build a rapport with this patient group.
- Organisational skills, an ability to take initiative and complete delegated tasks.
- Ability to facilitate activities on a 1:1 or group basis.
- GCSE level or equivalent in English and Maths.

There will be opportunities to be involved in staff training and professional development as well as regular individual supervision from an Occupational Therapist.
