Technical Energy Consultant

Who we’re looking for:

We are looking forconsultants, to support all aspects of our clients work. This recruitment is for engineers with around 4 years’ post-graduate work experience. You will be working extensively on renewable energy systems, improving energy efficiency and mitigating environmental impact of energy use. Working with commercial clients to devise, implement and improve energy systems that reduce costs and are environmentally superior.

For example, they are currently working on:

  • Greenhouse CHP
  • AD
  • Biomass

What you’ll get to do:

  • You will lead and support research, analysis, technical assistance and evaluation of projects in the energy sector for our clients, focusing on energy improvements
  • You will engage with stakeholders through both quantitative and qualitative survey and technical-economic analysis tasks
  • You will be involved with third party organisations to help improve and define policies within the UK energy sector
  • You will maintain appropriate records and uphold quality assurance integrity

What you'll need to succeed:

  • At least a Bachelor’s level degree in engineering or related discipline
  • Professional experience, ideally in a consulting environment
  • A good knowledge and experience of the UK energy sector
  • An understanding of renewable energy systems and energy efficiency technologies in consideration of their deployment in commercial applications
  • An interest in broader energy efficiency and environmental impacts
  • An understanding of climate change mitigation measures
  • Strong quantitative analysis capability
  • Experience in working in multi-skilled teams and responsibility for junior members
  • You will need to be fluent in English
  • You might also have:

    • An understanding of heat de-carbonisation and/or de-centralised energy supply and storage technologies and their commercial deployment would be a distinct advantage
    • You could have technical skills in assessing heating and cooling technologies
    • You could have an understanding of energy efficiency/renewable energy financial mechanisms
    • You may have an understanding of the UK energy efficiency/renewable energy policy And support frameworks

    What you will get:

    Depending on your experience, you will receive a salary of between £30,000 & £40,000 together with a generous benefits package. This is a full-time post, Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week. A full current driving licence and own transport are essential.
