Technical Design Manager

The Role
The objective of this newly created role is to transfer design seamlessly onto a digital platform enabling client configurations and future scalability
Overall objective of managing the design process from concept to production is to ensure that quality control is in place to eliminate any discrepancy between design and production.
Manage the Design team to ensure that the process flows seamlessly
Ensure that the quality checks are in place to sign off final design
Save remakes in production where discrepancies have occurred which increase costs.
Save management time in sorting repeat errors.
Enable the projects to be completed within the allocated timeline and avoid running over on other projects.
Increase performance by the teams especially at peak periods and reduce the overtime costs associated when the factory has to remake product.
Skills and Attributes required:
At least 2 years team management experience
The personality and ability to inspire, motivate and lead a team
Run the design production process striving to achieve a standard of excellence
A passion for continuous development, innovation to add ideas and values
An unsparing attention to detail setting an example to the team
Skills and experience
At least 2 years project management experience
At least 2 years AutoCAD experience
Knowledge of SQL databases / Crystal reporting / XML coding would be an advantage
Or similar building reports with equivalent reporting programs
Knowledge of furniture assembly and manufacture, materials and fittings
Ability and commitment to hit deadlines resolving with efficiency manufacturing / production issues which may arise

You will report to the Operations Director
