Job Title: Technical Copywriter
Job Type: 9 to 12 Month Contract/Freelance
We are currently looking for a Technical Copywriter to join a creative office environment which is based in Bournemouth.
Responsibilities of the Role
Working under the Head of Artwork and the Creative Director the principle aspect of this role is to create, smooth and edit copy for a series of technical manuals.
As a Copywriter, you are responsible for the delivery of long form copy, headlines and the accuracy of your copy that leaves the agency. You may also be asked to copy check work and should be able to do this accurately and swiftly.
You are a wordsmith, you write with flair and intelligence and can tailor your writing to the house style of whatever client's copy you are working on. You have an understanding of the nuances and differences of writing for print or digital.
Skills & Competencies
- Understanding their clients - what they do and how they talk about themselves - you should be familiar with and understand the Tone of Voice sections of all their clients guidelines and any idiosyncrasies they may have.
- Grammar and punctuation - you need to know your En from your Em dashes.
- Writing with flair and being able to bring what may appear to be a less than exciting subject to life in an engaging way
- Writing with intelligence and when required imbuing your work with wit and humour.
