Technical Business Analyst

Purpose of the job:

Our client is looking for aTechnical Business Analyst to support the delivery of their product and bespoke implementations, taking ownership of the technical proposition throughout the full project lifecycle. This is a vital position within the organisation and the successful candidate will have a pivotal role in all customer deliveries with the chance to make a significant impact on customer satisfaction and the quality of the delivery teams.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Principle technical interface between the customer, QA and development teams
  • Owner of the technical solution being delivered during the delivery phase
  • Ability to confidently interpret client requirements translating them into technical requirements
  • Add value throughout the SDLC through effective questioning, investigation and outside the box thinking to exceed customer expectations
  • Comfortable leading client technical discussions during both the scoping and delivery phases
  • Confident working as part of a geographically distributed team, ensuring the technical solution is understood by all concerned parties and changes effectively scoped, defined and implemented to the required high standards expected by our customers
  • Excellent wireframing, process mapping and technical writing skills
  • Provide an effective hand over to the QA team to ensure high-quality output
  • Supporting commercial teams during technical pre-sales discussions with clients and supporting RFP responses as required

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Advanced understanding of delivering technical solutions in both an Agile and Waterfall environment
  • Improve the quality of technical implementations ensuring that all contractual client requirements have been met in the final delivery
  • Measurable improvement to quality of all customer deliveries through effective communication to QA and development teams
  • High-quality documentation, gaining the trust and respect of account managers, development, QA and customers
  • Ensure any technical challenges are communicated effectively internally and manage the resolution process through to conclusion
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills within role and potential to lead junior staff
  • Plan own workload and communicate timelines to internal stakeholders

Experience and Qualifications:


  • Strong analysis experience in a full software development lifecycle / SDLC technology environment (Agile and/or Waterfall)
  • Proven experience in a customer facing role
  • Technical architecture of high volume transactional systems
  • Technical knowledge or familiarity with .Net, SQL, XML & JSON
  • Experience with enterprise cloud products.
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to run effective customer workshops
  • Natural ability to analyse and resolve technical problems
  • Experience of producing test case documents and working closely with QA teams
  • Ability to work autonomously, a self-starter with the confidence to make own decisions


  • Mobile industry experience
  • Any formal qualifications in Agile, ISEB Analysis and/or Project Management would be advantageous
  • Experience of technical social networking integrations such as Twitter and Facebook
