An international engineering, project management and services contractor are looking to build their current capability and are seeking an experienced Technical Author. Reporting to Commissioning Manager, you will be responsible for the generation of the Operating and Maintenance Manuals relevant to the scope of works for their Waste to Energy Project in draft and final form.

As the Technical Author your main responsibilities will include:

- Preparing and producing O&M manuals and other documentation to the required standard 

- Introduction; where the Plant is briefly described
- Plant description; where individual equipment and the systems they belong to is presented in detail
- Approved Engineering drawings, schedules, process flow diagrams and process data sheets, relevant to the Plant systems and sub-systems
- List the principles of Operation and Operating Instructions, relevant to the supplied equipment, systems and sub-systems
- Detail the Maintenance requirements for all the equipment associated with the scope, including spares, maintenance periodicity, fault diagnosis, lubrication schedules etc.

- Obtaining source information from engineers, research specifications, drawings and internet
- Working within a team of other Technical Authors

Essential Requirements

- Degree qualified
- Excellent communication skills with a high standard of written English 
- Competent with Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Acrobat Pro, MS Office, MS Visio, Adobe Photoshop
- Previous experience in the Water/Energy from Waste/Biomass/ Thermal Power Generation industry
- Ability to work well under pressure and to meet tight deadlines
