Juliette Lister and Lisa Tremlett are currently assisting a Pensions Company who are presently recruiting for a Technical Analyst/Paraplanner

The Technical Analyst (formerly 'Paraplanner' / 'Assistant Consultant') produces technical reports and analysis for Consultants and Directors. The Technical Analyst is an additional point of contact for clients.

  • Create and maintain client files both electronically and in paper form

  • Draft recommendation reports and letters to clients on specific client planning issues

  • Provide technical data analysis for client presentation

  • Draft and co-ordinate technical reports and research for client presentation and client reviews

  • In conjunction with other team members, ensure that all client facing documents are updated on a regular basis to reflect any changes in our proposition or legislative, commercial landscape

  • Oversee changes and restructures of clients' corporate retirement benefit provisions

  • Support Consultants for general client work (mostly investigative)

  • Handle and resolve the day-to-day queries both relating to new and existing business, liaising between colleagues, product providers and clients

  • Accompany Consultants to client meetings, take notes and produce minutes, as required

  • Assist Consultants and Directors to manage corporate client bank so client goals are met in accordance with specified objectives

  • Prepare and assist in corporate client retirement benefit reviews, annual reviews, benchmarking and Governance reports/meetings.

  • Provide Consultants with proactive recommendations based on knowledge of clients

  • Support management in suggesting methods for improving the efficiency and working practices of the team

  • Support Consultants through regular communications regarding the progress of work being undertaken

  • Undertake technical training sufficient to carry out their role

    Key Skills

  • Analytical and numerical ability - able to analyse and interpret data, evaluate data and make recommendations based on data and market/technical knowledge

  • Good command of language and the ability in both written and oral communications to distil complex technical issues and relay them in a way that is intelligible for non­experts

  • Windows computer packages including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel, plus other financial technology

  • Full Certificate in Financial Planning or PMI equivalent but Diploma in Financial

    Planning or equivalent preferred

  • Educated to at least A Level/Higher standard

    Knowledge

  • Full understanding of the administrative procedures relating to the different categories of business and ensure they conform to regulatory & Firm standards

  • All practices and disciplines in predominantly Corporate Pensions and also in Investments and Financial Planning

  • Available products and services in all relevant areas of corporate pensions financial planning
