The Deputy Head Teacher looks for intelligent, empathetic graduates with endearing personalities. She finds that these attributes fit in well for her Teaching Assistant roles at her school. For part of the day those pupils who find literacy and numeracy challenging are given targeted and individualised group support from chosen teaching assistants - (Intervention groups). This has worked well over the years and she wants this repeated again next year. It looks great on a CV when applying for teaching courses.
A major plus point of this school are its extra- curricular activities/clubs. The After school clubs are outstanding Also, the school have successful football and netball teams. The Deputy really likes those Teaching Assistants that can get involved in the school life. She wants the Teaching Assistants to be proactive and independent.
