Teaching Assistant (PMLD) - Bristol

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant (PMLD) to join a supportive school in Bristol on a long-term basis. This role is ideal for someone experienced in behaviour management and passionate about creating a positive, inclusive learning environment for students with profound and multiple learning disabilities.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant (PMLD), you will:

  • Support teachers in delivering tailored lessons and activities to meet individual learning needs.
  • Assist with personal care, including feeding, toileting, and mobility.
  • Use specialist equipment and techniques such as sensory tools and assistive technology.
  • Monitor and record student progress and well-being to inform teachers and caregivers.
  • Promote independence and participation in a safe, inclusive setting.
  • Work closely with therapists, teachers, and families to provide holistic support.

  • Previous experience supporting students with PMLD is preferred.
