About the Role:We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant educational community in Oxfordshire. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about making a difference in the lives of students, whether in mainstream or Special Educational Needs (SEN) settings. The successful candidate will support teachers in delivering high-quality education and provide tailored assistance to students to enhance their learning experience.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist the class teacher in preparing and delivering engaging lessons.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, including those with SEN, to facilitate their academic, social, and emotional development.
- Support the integration of SEN students within mainstream classes, ensuring an inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor and report on student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to parent-teacher meetings.
- Supervise and support students during extracurricular activities, breaks, and school trips.
- Assist in managing classroom behavior, promoting a positive and productive learning atmosphere.
- Perform administrative tasks such as preparing resources, maintaining student records, and setting up equipment.
- Collaborate with other teaching assistants, SEN coordinators, and school staff to share best practices and strategies.
- Previous experience working with children in an educational setting, preferably with both mainstream and SEN students.
- A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or a related field (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, SEN qualifications).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting the educational and developmental needs of all students.
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt to the changing needs of the classroom.
- Knowledge of various SEN conditions and effective teaching strategies to support diverse learners.
- Basic IT skills for record-keeping and resource preparation.
- Experience in delivering interventions or support programs for students with SEN.
- Training in behavior management techniques and de-escalation strategies.
