Teaching Assistant to Qualified Teacher Status

Posted 5 February by Teachin Easy Apply Ended

Teach In Qualified (TIQ)- Salaried Initial Teacher Training placement available throughout London.

Admissions now open for April 2018.

Teach In Qualified takes aspiring graduates from Teaching Assistants to Qualified Teachers over a 6 phase period. As a TiQ trainee, all of your tuition fees and salary will be paid by the school. You will begin working in your placement school in the role of Graduate Teaching Assistant, slowly taking on increasing responsibility as you progress through each phase, allowing you the time to build your confidence and teaching ability through first-hand experience and theory-based professional development days.

As a TiQ trainee, you will be provided with an in-school mentor and an external tutor from your first day as a Teaching Assistant up until you gain Qualified Teacher Status later upon completing phase 6. Your professional development days providing you with relevant theory and pedagogical knowledge take place during half term, meaning you won't miss out on practical experience while you train.

Teach In Qualified is a practical salaried teacher training course that gradually builds our trainee’s skills, knowledge and confidence for the transition from Teaching Assistant to Teacher, providing the support and guidance needed to secure a long-term career in teaching.

We are looking for committed individuals, preferably with Teaching Assistant or education experience, who have a strong academic background and are interested in a long-term teaching career.

To find out more about the programme, apply now if:

  • You have a degree classification of 2:1 or above (2:2 may be accepted with experience)
  • You have C's or above in GCSE Maths, English and Science
  • You have previously worked as a Teaching Assistant or have extensive experience working with children in a different capacity
