CER Education is looking for a teaching assistant to work in a school in the Sunderland area who has experience working with Autism. The Role is to start immediately and will be working Monday to Friday. The working hours are between 8:30am to 4:30pm with a designated slot for your lunch. The role will more specifically entail working with children and young adults who are on the autistic spectrum. You will be working alongside a class teacher as well one to two other teaching assistants in your group. You will be working within small groups and occasionally one to one helping to develop the young learners with their individual learning plans. The school promotes independence for its learners as well as provides a great learning dynamic in order to help facilitate personal development. The role will initially be on a temporary basis but has the potential to go permanent.
You must have;
- Experience working with SEND and challenging behavior.
- Experience working with children and young adults.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service (or be willing to get one in process).
CER offer CPD courses such as; Team-Teach, Moving and Handling and Autism Awareness.
