Teaching Assistant - UES1

Location: South Croydon, CR2-7HZ

Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week (term time only)

Start Date: As soon as possible

About the role:

Uniform Education is working with a specialist provision we support which serves young people aged 16-25 with profound & multiple learning disabilities (PMLD). All pupils are wheelchair users, medically dependent and require personal care support. The setting includes excellent facilities such as a hydrotherapy pool, sensory rooms and on-site therapists and registered nurses.

Key responsibilities & person specification:

  • Assist class teachers, therapists and other support staff in delivering tailored learning experiences for students with PMLD.
  • Support individual and group activities, including personal care (feeding, toileting, mobility) and learning tasks.
  • Monitor and record student progress, contribute to individual learning plans, promote positive behaviour and independence.
  • Desirable: experience working with children or adults with learning disabilities, PMLD or other special educational needs.
  • Desirable: Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or SEND training.
