Teaching Assistant at SEMH school

An exciting and rewarding opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to join an amazing school for boys aged 7-11 years who have social, emotional and mental health issues.

Teaching Assistant Role: Your overall responsibility is to ensure all students have equal opportunities to develop themselves academically. This will be achieved by promoting the importance of education and supporting the specific needs of the young people in the class room and at other group activities. You will promote self esteem and support the students in making informed decisions. You will be working in a challenging but highly rewarding environment. The role is term-time only.

Teaching Assistant Criteria: We are looking for people who are able to communicate with challenging young people, manage their behaviours and help to promote their independence and transition to a healthy adulthood. You would also need to be able to support them confidently with their academic work. Experience of working with challenging behaviours within a professional care setting is essential and you must drive due to the rural location of the school.
