Teaching Assistant - SEBD Blackwood Area
The school provide education and support on a day basis to Key Stage 2-3 learners with Social, Emotional and Behavioural Disorders (SEBD), helping them to manage their emotions prior to attending mainstream school.
With this in mind, the learners can at times display quite challenging behaviour towards themselves, other pupils and yourself as a staff member therefore, the role would suit someone with a Team Teach qualification who can respond to these issues in the same holistic way the school itself would.
Although sometimes challenging, the rewards that come from supporting learners with SEBD will offer great job satisfaction and sense of achievement.
From their next TA / LSA, the learners are looking for a positive, encouraging, firm but fair role model who is also caring and can show empathy when needed.
To provide the learners with the best level of education, you will have experience of supporting learners with additional learning needs within a specialist setting. This is an essential requirement for this role. Ideally, you will hold a relevant Team Teach qualification and have previous experience supporting learners with SEBD.
