This Ofsted "Good" secondary school, based in Grays is currently looking to secure the services of a confident and dedicated graduate who wants to work as a teaching assistant for the remainder of the academic year.
This position will see you supporting pupils, in the classroom, with learning difficulties- Autism, ADHD, dyslexia...Some of the pupils that you will be supporting will find it difficult to focus and remain on task and will therefore require your strong support.
You will be working across all subject areas, requiring your literacy and numeracy skills to be of a high standard. Furthermore, having a personable and confident approach is essential, as is the desire to become a secondary school teacher or educational psychologist.
The school's Ofsted report states that it's "Good", meaning that all pupils have access to an excellent education. Teaching across all departments is consistently outstanding, as is behaviour and leadership and management.
Teaching assistants are regularly developed professionally and are well supported and line managed. All members of staff are encouraged to become an intrinsic part of everyday school life, helping with all aspects of the school.
The Candidate - The Teaching Assistant:
Prior experience of working with children is a must. However, your experience does not have to have come from within a school. Existing experience of working with children with learning difficulties will be beneficial to your application. Ultimately, your attitude and desire to apply yourself will be the deciding factor. As for your qualifications, you must have a degree.
