Education to a degree level is required for this position. Ideally, the school are looking for someone with a strong academic background and a 2:2 or above. Experience in a similar position is ideal for this role. The primary school are looking for someone with at least 1 or 2 years' experience as a teaching assistant or in a similar role. The teaching assistant will be supporting in a Year 2 class.

The teaching assistant will hold responsibilities of general classroom support, involving helping the class teacher with preparation of lessons as well as delivery and helping children with their learning. The main focus will be numeracy and literacy; however extra-curricular activities will also be a part of the role. The teaching assistant will be working with small groups and also 1:1 with the children for example to help them with their reading. The successful candidate must have a minimum of a C in GCSE Maths and English.
