We are seeking to appoint an experienced teacher at a school specialising in the education and care of children and young people between the age of 5 and 19 years who are diagnosed as being on the autistic spectrum with associated learning difficulties and challenging behaviour.
This is Good rated school with elements of outstanding seeking a teacher with a proven ability to drive attainment levels and create a stimulating learning environment sensitive to individual capabilities and needs.
Ideally you will have experience of managing young people with challenging behaviour, including those with ASD and communication difficulties - but we would also like to hear from newly qualified teachers with an interest in and desire to learn more about special needs.
The successful candidate will need to be a strong team player and comfortable with taking on new challenges.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:
" A fully qualified teacher ideally with some experience of working with young people with challenging behaviour, ASD and communication difficulties.
" A sound understanding of the current legislation and statutory regulations relating to educational and care and a detailed knowledge of the National Curriculum.
" Passionate, enthusiastic and self-motivated.
" Have excellent interpersonal skills
" Be highly organised and adaptable
" Be a strong team player
" Be flexible and happy to take on new challenges.
" Be committed to working in partnership with parents and outside agencies
