Teacher required for School with moderate to severe learning disabilities and severe autism
We are currently looking to employ a teacher for a SEN school in Essex which focuses on 1:1 education for children with MLD/SLD/ADHD/ASD and Challenging Behaviour. We are ideally looking for a literacy teacher to help the children with their English but the teacher must have experience with challenging behaviour preferably in a setting and an environment similar to current setting as these children can prove very challenging.
The children generally have a common theme of challenging behaviour and are cohort of pupils currently more MLD than SLD so experience with EBD/SEMH pupils would be a plus as this fits with our current cohort.
The school is a new Independent school and is in a beautiful setting with Forest school and outdoor learning high on the priorities of the school. The candidate must like the outdoors and outdoor teaching and also like working with animals due to the onsite farm.
To teach children with a range of special educational needs in small groups. Ideally a literacy and numeracy teacher with the aim of developing a childs independent learning.
To support pupils with LD and enable their appropriate access to their individual curriculums
To develop plans of action, schemes of work and materials to support such pupils with their set curriculums
To be involved in identifying all levels of need, planning and reviewing
To work with the head to plan lessons for the small number of children in the school
To work with Forest school and work with the children outdoors and also on the on-site farm helping to develop their education.
