We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified teacher to deliver classroom-based element of Foundation Apprenticeship in Creative and Digital Media. This position is temporary for a period of up to 12 months. The position may be offered as a Secondment and you should seek line management approval before applying.

The role will include

a) teacher delivery of the NPA/ classroom-based elements of the Foundation Apprenticeship in Creative and Digital Media (minimum of 4 contact periods per week)
b) development of the learning and teaching materials and assessment requirements to support successful roll out of this qualification
c) liaising with the SVQ provider/ assessors and employers delivering the work-based learning elements of this Foundation Apprenticeship
d) building capacity through extending awareness of this qualification with relevant staff in schools and with other providers
e) contributing to ongoing evaluation of the programme

The post will be offered as 0.4fte (2 days per week equivalent)

Applicants for teaching posts must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland, Clerwood House, 96 Clermiston Road, Edinburgh, EH12 6UT in the appropriate sector.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
