Hardgate Primary and Springholm Primary Schools are situated in in the Castle Douglas Cluster and are partnered with Lochrutton Primary. We have close relationships within our partnership and with the wider Castle Douglas Cluster.

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic professionals to join our committed team who provide high quality primary education in a nurturing, relaxed, supportive and inclusive ethos. We currently have 2 posts within the partnership.

Successful candidates will support the children in developing the essential skills allowing them to become successful, confident and responsible contributors to the world they live in. We are looking for a dedicated member who is interested in providing high quality learning experiences within a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment.

Teacher 1(1.0FTE – Permanent): The successful candidate will initially work in P3/4 at Springholm Primary School.

Teacher 2 (1.0FTE – Permanent, start date Jan 2019): The successful candidate will initially work in P6/7 at Hardgate Primary School.

Applicants for teaching posts must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland, Clerwood House, 96 Clermiston Road, Edinburgh, EH12 6UT in the appropriate sector.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.

A significant relocation package of up to £5000 is available to the successful candidate.
