There are currently four members of the department, all of whom are specialists, which enables a challenging and exciting curriculum to be taught across all Key Stages.
Religious Education is taught to all pupils throughout Key Stage 3 and 4 as a core part of the curriculum. Results in recent years have been outstanding with the 2017 cohort achieving 100% A*-A, with 94.2% achieving an A*.
In Year 11 the students follow an enrichment course of themes in Philosophy. At A Level, Philosophy has become a popular choice in recent years and results have been excellent. In 2017 100% of A2 students were awarded A*-B with 87.5% of students achieving Grades A*-A.
The post is permanent, full time and arises as a result of the Schools continued expansion. It would suit someone keen to teach able boys in a thriving department.
You will be academically well-qualified and enthusiastic. You should have the ability to teach RE and Philosophy to students of the highest ability and aspiration.
You will have:
• A good degree in Theology, Philosophy, or a closely related discipline
• A consistent record of strong teaching standards
• High energy levels and willingness to work hard
