£50,000 - £60,000 (dependent upon experience) + benefits

Offices based in Guildford, Surrey

A rare opportunity to join an award winning firm of dedicated tax professionals specialising in international tax for globally mobile individuals. Acting for clients including non residents, high net worth individuals, non domiciles and professional sportspersons, extending to over 90 countries. Specialising in expatriate and global mobility tax consulting services, we are now looking for a Tax Manager to join our small dynamic team. Based in Guildford, this is an exciting and rare opportunity with ongoing in house training, support assistance for tax training.

The Tax Manager’s responsibilities would include:

  • Review of UK returns, completion of complex UK tax returns, tax equalisation and hypothetical calculations
  • Managing an interesting and varied portfolio of clients including individuals and corporate assignees
  • Advising companies and HR professionals on issues affecting their expat populations including employment contracts and social security issues
  • Considerable client contact and liaison with HMRC and third parties such as network partners
  • Advising clients on S9a enquiry from HMRC and liaising with HMRC
  • Liaising with overseas offices and coordinating exchange of information and review of tax treatment between two countries
  • Coach and mentor junior members of the team and technical supervision of work
  • Adhere to the Quality and Risk Management processes
  • Build working relationships with clients and other advisers and provide high levels of client service
  • Winning new work by proactively managing existing clients and identifying new opportunities and be involved in new client proposals
  • Attend business development meetings and presenting at client meetings/workshops

About you:

  • Strong tax technical skills and keen to develop further
  • Experience of working in a global mobility/employment tax client focused role
  • A degree of flexibility to meet client /department needs and deadlines
  • Ability to build strong client relationships
  • To have a very good attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • A strong work ethic, be enthusiastic, proactive and be able to work independently and in a team
  • Good knowledge of Excel and Word
