Our valued client is a full service business and tax advisory practice focused on entrepreneurial businesses and private clients. Based in Cambridge with 40 staff and partners, the firm has a proven track record of delivery and a carefully-chosen group of successful clients.

The position of Tax Chartered Accountant is a key role within their growing firm, as you will be responsible for managing the first-class delivery of a variety of technical work and advice to a small but demanding portfolio of clients with complex and wide-ranging needs. If you have a general practice background and a high level of emotional intelligence, this could be just the opportunity for you to expand your advisory skills with a challenging and highly-rewarding portfolio.

You will need solid knowledge of the UK GAAP and tax fundamentals, and have the excellent interpersonal skills needed to work within a small team of qualified staff and trainees, and develop relationships with our client families. You will be expected to proactively contribute to the management of the practice in areas such as systems development and procedural issues. The successful candidate will have a proactive approach to their role, which offers a high degree of advisory work, with excellent opportunities for growth and leadership by working closely with two of the firm’s partners.

Responsibilities

·Management of portfolio of a wealthy families and their varied interests

·Management of accounts and taxation compliance assignments for a variety of business structures in line with firm’s standard procedures

·Supporting and working alongside the partners in delivery of advisory work and specialist projects

·Participation in client meetings and collaboration with other professional advisors

·Delivery of client service charter

·Management of portfolio lock-up and recoveries through billing activities

·Contribution towards development of technical audit and accounts competences, portfolio management and advisory skills in trainees

·Participation in departmental resource planning

·Carrying out other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the role

Qualifications and experience required

·Fully qualified ACA / ACCA

·Strong general practice background

·Experienced in managing accounts and taxation compliance assignments

·Experienced in building client relationships

·Experienced in dealing with owner-managed businesses

·Experience of trusts taxation and accounting matters

·Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in relevant roles
