The company

My clients is the provider of outsourced staffing services to an independent ISP provider offering the latest leading technology in broadband services, this being both traditional Internet Services and "Air Fibre Network broadband internet service" which is a very different offering to your traditional broadband offering and is bringing this internet service to all areas throughout the UK

Due to highly aggressive growth plans along with strong consolidation we are looking to recruit a Systems and Network Operations Manager to oversee the Systems and Networks for this very successful ISP.

The role

Overseeing the management of the Network and IT Systems based around Linux and Unix technology solutions within various ISP environments

Responsible for the Management of systems and IT engineers who maintain the business 365/7/24 in a B2B & B2C with latest Microsoft based intel systems, both virtual and physical

Responsible for boosting service uptime by implementing server and network resilience wherever possible, systems failover automation planning and implementation.

Strategic management of server estate (server consolidation, retirement, relocation & virtualisation)

You will be responsible for a small technical team maintaining the smooth running of the IT Infrastructure. The team are responsible for daily checks, support, maintenance and regular implementation projects

The candidate

You will need to have leadership skills

We will expect you to have a combination of knowledge of some of the following solution areas:

Unix/Linux Operating Systems - Windows bases OS - Server Inventry Tools - Firewalls - Loadbalancing - Backup Services - Monitoring Tools - Logging Software - Database Software - Network Storage - DNS Applications - File Transfer - Virtualisation Software - Data Replication

Redhat Solutions would be an advantage
