Our client is home to award winning beaches and parks, historical monuments, picture postcard villages and part of the South Downs, they’ve got it all. Covering the three main towns of Arundel, Littlehampton and Bognor Regis, the district is home to around 150,000 people and borders Chichester to the west and Worthing to the east. 

Position: Systems Administration and Development Team Officer 
Location: Littlehampton (Commutable form Worthing, Shoreham-By-Sea, Rustington, Bognor Regis, Chichester, Arundel and surrounding areas) 
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent 
Hours: 37 hours per week 
Salary: £23,398 to £24,964 per annum pro rata (Pay award pending)

About the role: 

The Systems Administrator will work as part of the System Support team, created to bring together application and user support, training and system development for their Revenues & Benefit Service. The Systems Team play a key role in supporting the front-line delivery of the service to their residents. You will need to have excellent communication skills in order to provide excellent customer service. You will have a high level of technical ability and IT literacy with the ability to develop sophisticated data systems. 

These posts will support the service in the day to day running of the business and the development of the Revenues and Benefits IT systems. The position also requires the successful candidate to prepare and submit various government returns. 

They are looking for individuals who are passionate about the use of technology to support the Revenues & Benefit Team, who understand the need for robust, reliable data and who understand complex databases. 

As a member of the Revenues and Benefits System Team you will play a role in the future design and development of the service 

To contribute to the overall performance of Revenues and Benefits by undertaking system development and administration work, assisting in projects and quality assurance. 

About You: 

The Ideal candidate will have practical experience working of IT based projects and understanding of working with IT within a large organisation. You will need experience and skills in a range of IT packages including word processing and spreadsheets as well as experience working with Northgate’s iWorld software. 

You will also have recent experience working in Revenues and / or Benefits with full knowledge and understanding of Revenues and / or Benefit Legislation and how it impacts on IT systems. Working knowledge and understanding of other legislation and functions where they impact on Revenues and Benefits is also essential. 

You will have a good standard of education with the ability to communicate effectively with individuals, face to face, in writing and on the telephone, to achieve objectives. You will also need the ability to read and interpret complex information including but not limited to legislation, case law, Commissioners Decisions. 

This post requires some occasional weekend working and you must be able to travel to attend meetings and seminars away from office base.
