A technology and software house based near Warrington has invited the Ashdown Group to submit candidates for a support role maintaining software and solutions deployed at their customer sites. Although the role will be based in the headquarters near Warrington, it may occasionally require travel to client sites in the UK.
The successful candidate will have substantial experience already in technical support and will be accustomed to supporting bespoke software solutions as well as off-the-shelf packages. The majority of client environments are Windows based, so knowledge of Windows desktop (Windows 7, Windows 10) and Windows server technologies is required. A solid understanding of networking protocols and technologies is required and candidates with experience of monitoring network and systems health using tools such as Wireshark, CMD Utilities or SSH will be of particular interest.
The main focus of the role will be to provide remote support to users based on customer sites, but there will also be a requirement to assist in house users with basic support issues too, so broad technical support experience incorporating MS Office is also an essential requirement. Knowledge of building or facilities management systems, building security systems or fire safety systems would be hugely advantageous.
