Sustainability LCA Analyst

Location: Remote

Duration: 6 month temporary contract

Rate: Competitive

We are currently recruiting for a Sustainability LCA Analyst to collect data pertaining to sustainability measures, and assessthrough ISO14040 compliant life cycle assessment modelling and methodology, the environmental impact our client's products have from the cradle to the grave. The analyst will make use of the data to identify environmental hotspots and recommend eco-design improvement objectives. The products are typically manufactured from a variety of materials, including rubber and various polymers.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Life Cycle Assessments and the valuation of the environmental impact of products manufactured
  • Collaborate with and guide manufacturing teams and suppliers through data collection required for LCA modelling
  • Develop LCA models using Simapro software
  • Prepare reports, presentations of analyses, and recommendations for  the reduction of environmental impact
  • Research sustainability topics of interest that will build the product lines of the company
  • Create communication collateral such as case studies

Candidate requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree or MSc in environmental science or similar discipline, with a specialization in LCA

Job Experience

  • Previous experience in LCA modelling relevant to climate change impacts and benefits within corporate value chains
  • Familiarity with LCA databases (e.g., Ecoinvent, etc.) and in-depth knowledge of database management
  • Familiarity with LCA standards & guidelines (e.g., ISO 14040/44)
  • Experience with Simapro  LCA Software is essential
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the quantification of environmental impacts, EPDs and an in depth understanding of environmental science

Knowledge and Skills

  • Demonstrable knowledge of material science i.e. how materials are made and the  corresponding environmental implications would be an advantage
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
  • Fluent in English (written and oral); Portuguese and/or Chinese is an advantage
  • An interest in sustainability solutions for business
