Ribble Recruitment is supporting a local authority in Somerset to appoint an Interim Senior Estates Surveyor to deliver a busy programme of property transfers and disposals across a large, diverse public sector estate.

You’ll take ownership of complex estates casework, manage transactions up to £1m, and play a key role in shaping long-term asset strategy — not just keeping the lights on.

• Leading property transfers & disposals from valuation through to completion
• Ensuring full compliance with Section 123 (Local Government Act 1972)
• Appointing and managing external agents, valuers, and legal advisors
• Producing options appraisals, feasibility studies, and business cases
• Supporting delivery of the Strategic Asset Management Plan
• Working across a varied estate: commercial, community, surplus & rural assets

This is hands-on, delivery-focused estates work with real autonomy.

Essential

• Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in a property-related discipline
• Strong experience in estate management, specifically disposals & transfers
• Comfortable working at pace and managing multiple live transactions
• Able to attend the office 1–2 days per week and travel to sites across Somerset

Desirable

• MRICS / Associate RICS
• Recent local authority experience

• £44.25/hr PAYE
• £60.76/hr Umbrella
